After the siege of [[New Avalon]] the Avalon Hussars were in a bad place mentally. At least one regiment fell apart due to internal tensions. The [[Jihad]] and the need to focus on a common enemy gave the Hussars new purpose, and by the time the Jihad ended, the Avalon Hussars were back to the skilled force they had been prior to the [[FedCom Civil War]].
