Also known as the Andurien Crisis and Andurien Secession Crisis, the Andurien Secession took place between 3030 and 3040.[1] The Duchy of Andurien's ruler, Dame Catherine Humphreys, forged a covert alliance with Magestrix Kyalla Centrella of the Magistracy of Canopus. After the conclusion of the Fourth Succession War in 3030, which saw the routed Capellans lose half their territory to the Federated Suns, emboldened the two leaders. Andurien declared independence from the Free Worlds League in September, and the Defenders of Andurien along with the Magistracy Armed Forces, began a joint invasion of the Capellan Confederation. They hoped to seize enough planets to make their alliance a significant power. Unfortunately the Capellans rallied and drove out the invaders.[2]
Meanwhile, Andurien's secession had created a backlash in the rest of the League in favor of the Marik rulers, allowing Janos Marik to pass the Internal Emergency Act in 3030. This Act stripped many of the powers of the Home Defense Act, which had seriously handicapped the FWLM in the Succession Wars. The most obvious effect of the Internal Emergency Act was to overturn the ability of local/regional governments to refuse to provide the FWLM with combat forces. The Principality of Regulus and Duchy of Oriente, who supported the Internal Emergency Act, were not subject to its restrictions.[1]
With the changes mandated by the Internal Emergency Act in place, the Marik rulers now moved against Andurien. Centrella cut Humphreys loose to fend for herself, and the Duchy was overrun by 3040. One result of this action was the complete dissolution of the Defenders of Andurien. Their equipment would go to the new Free Worlds League Legionnaires.[1]
On the political front, the events of the Andurien Secession and the related conflicts set the stage for Thomas Marik's Addendum to the Incorporation. This act basically formalized and made permanent several key modifications to League law and government procedure.[3] Another result of the Secession was the passage of the Military Reorganization Act in 3046, which standardized military education requirements and the FWLM rank structure. Both of these had the effect of making soldiers who were loyal to the Free Worlds League as a whole, rather than to their regions.

- The heir of the throne, Thomas Marik, reapeared in front of the gahered assembly. Ducan Marik must prove his worth as a comander/leader of the nation. His decision was his doom.

- Part 1:The prize for this planet was high for the royal forced. The Marik troops tried to pin the Defenders in a place to deliver the final blow, but an engagement cost Ducan Marik his life. The 15th faltered under the pressure of the Defeders and only the 10th continued to fight.
- Part Two:The Tooth defend the retreating defenders but lost their CO during these action. The new CO's does not renew the contract and headed of world. Both Defenders command retreated also offworld.[27]

- Outcome:The naval battle cost both sides. The defenders lost 6 dropships +50 fighters because the invaders only 36 fighter together with 3 dropships.
- The landing was contested from the beginning. The First Regulan Hussars pinned the 3rd Defenders of Andurien in placed, where the Eleventh Atrean Dragoons detroyed the command to the last man.
- First Defenders of Andurien meet the FWL Guards near a large city. The 4th Defenders came to their releave. The FWL Guards destroy the 4th but suffer in this progress horrendous loses too.
- The next battle was extended with the arrival of new troops for the FWLM. The Sixth Defenders give their best, but could not stop the siege. The 1st Defenders released the shattered 6th after heavy fighting with the invaders. With the capture of the Dame Humphreys the fight ended arrupted, because she called all Anduriens to stand down and accept the new order from the FWLM. The Defenders were disbanded. Their machines were the ground work for the newly formed Free World Legionnaires and the Clan of Humphreys lost all privileges and the right to rules over Andurien.[32]
