==Description==
The '''Anat''' Armored Personnel Carrier is an early [[Dark Age]] design which was first produced by [[Clan Hell's Horses]] in [[3092]]. The Horses wanted a fast vehicle that could handle multiple terrain types. For this reason the vehicle was given a wheeled chassis and [[Limited Amphibious Equipment]]. The wheeled chassis can handle more terrain types than a hovercraft, and the amphibious equipment allows it to cross small water obstacles. Protected by three and a half tons of armor, the Anat can transport [[infantry]] units into hostile fire with some degree of safety. 

The Anat proved to be very popular with Clan Hell's Horses, and they traded them extensively with [[Clan Wolf-in-Exile]] and [[Clan Sea Fox]]. The Sea Foxes in turn sold them to any interested party. ==Weapons and Equipment==
As the Anat's primary role is to transport troops, the vehicle was fitted with a five-ton [[infantry bay]]. However, the vehicle is only lightly armed. Only a pair of [[Micro Pulse Laser]]s are carried in the turret. As a result, the Anat is frequently paired with [[Combat Vehicle|vehicles]] and '[[Mech]]s that have heavier weapons. In the [[Alpha Strike (rules)|Alpha Strike ruleset]] for BattleTech, the Anat APC can only inflict 1 damage point at short range. Its protection includes 2 points in both the armor and internal structure. The Anat APC was originally conceived by [[WizKids]]' [[MechWarrior: Dark Age|MechWarrior Dark Age Collectable Miniatures]] game as a part of its Counter Assault expansion set. The figure for the vehicle would be used by various factions as a common unit. The Anat would later be adopted by [[Catalyst Game Labs]] and redefined in the tabletop game once the company advanced the franchise's timeline to [[3145]].
