Unit Description
The 4th Skye Rangers military regiment was a House Steiner house unit. The regiment has strong ties with Federation of Skye seperatist movement known as Free Skye in the 31st Century. The unit nicknamed Albion was taken from the name for the JumpShip freighter that brought the founder of Federation of Skye, Ian McQuiston, to the planet of Skye.[1]
History
Fourth Succession War
Draconis Combine Incursion of 3029
The Rangers had sat out much of the war due the the political unrest caused by their region's leader, Duke Aldo Lestrade. However, Ryde Theather, Margrave of Ryde, General Jack Sphire manage to dispatched the 4th Rangers to fend off the Draconis Combine's Theodore Kurita push to take the mostly undefended worlds of the Federation of Skye from Lyran hands.
The unit was deployed in 3029, where the regiment was split between two of the three worlds threaten worlds; Kimball II and Korephoros.
On Kimball II, the Rangers dove into the 3rd Dieron Regulars in May 28th. During the surprise attack in the weaken unit which had recently losts Commanding Officer in early raid on Lyons. The Rangers managed successfully to run the Regulars off the planet.
The other half of the Rangers, attacked the larger 17th Benjamin Regulars on Kornephoros where they engaged in deadly game which ultimately ran off that world.[2]
Free Skye Movement
15th Battle for Hesperus II
In 3065 the 4th Skye Rangers, the 17th Skye Rangers, the 22nd Skye Rangers and the 32nd Lyran Guards tried to conquer Hesperus II, but were beaten back by the Grey Death Legion, 15th Lyran Guards and 36th Lyran Guards. Despite wrecking havoc with both sides of the battlefield, General von Frisch was weary seeing his people mauled by consistent fighting. So the Rangers conducted unauthorized withdrawl from Hesperus as Free Skye General Maria Esteban landed her own forces to attempt unseat the defenders of the planet.[3]
In June 3066, the unit arrived in Skye system as Loyalist aligned 11th Arcturan Guards & 1st Alarion Jaegers hunted down Free Skye's own 1st Skye Jaegers. von Frisch signal both sides of the conflict that his force was neutral and had shedded enough blood for Free Skye movement.
However, shortly after arriving, General von Frisch had received a flash communication from his Duke Robert Kelswa-Steiner from prison on Donegal. Signalling that he has "requested" that the move his force to Tharkad to join the pan-Lyran coalition force.[4]
Pan-Lyran Coalition to take Tharkad
The Rangers arrived in January of 3067 as part of Duke Roberts contributation to the Pan-Lyran Coalition of units fighting to free Tharkad from Katrina Steiner-Davion's rule. General Peter Steiner-Davion had pardon the Duke and his military in effort to unified forces from all over the Alliance to his cause.
The Rangers major efforts during fight on Tharkad was set between the cities of Nagelring and Tharkad City during the During the Battle of the Wash. General Peter Steiner-Davion had ordered the Rangers to lure out the 11th Arcturan Guard. The Guards were part of the Loyalist reserve force position. The Rangers succeeded in luring the Arcturans out of position, which lead to the weaking of Nondi Steiner's offensive. This action allowed for Peter's forces strike the 66th Division and help end the battle in favor of Steiner-Davion's forces.

In 3025 the CO was Hauptmann-Kommandant Kathleen Heany.[5]
In 3065 the CO was Leftenant-General William Harrison von Frisch.
Tactics
Due to it's brillant commanding officer, the whole 4th Skye Rangers RCT have derived a taste for imaginative tactics, rather than brute force. The whole unit is trained in variety of tactics and can adapt to every situation. In battle, the 4th Skye Rangers RCT tries to lure the enemy into a trap, rather than engaging them openly.
