History
Third Succession War
In 3025 the unit was assigned to defend Vega.[2]
Fourth Succession War
The Fourteenth engaged the Third Lyran Guard on Vega in 3028, successfully retaining the world for the Combine.[3][4] [5]
War of 3039
In April 3039 during the War of 3039, Vega was hit by the Federated Commonwealth's 3rd Davion Guard and 3rd Lyran Guards regiments.[6] The Fifth LAG and the Fourteenth Legion of Vega were forced off world, reluctantly withdrawing after a six week siege.[5] [7]
On July 12th the 2nd Legion of Vega arrived at a pirate jump point and commenced recapturing Vega from the occupying Federated Commonwealth forces, with the Fourteenth following closely behind to provide assistance. The planet was recaptured by August 16th.[8] During this reconquest, the 2nd Dieron Regulars and the Second Legion of Vega were supported by the elements of the Fourteenth that had withdrawn from the world. The Fourteenth forced the 1st Grave Walkers to break off their attack on the Second Dieron.[9]
Clan Invasion and Destruction
In 3049, Theodore Kurita made a political statement about his intentions toward the Federated Commonwealth by posting his son, Hohiro, to the Fourteenth Legion, well away from the border with Davion space. Graduating from the Sun Zhang MechWarrior Academy with honors, the Combine's Heir-Designate was assigned a prototype LosTech-equipped Grand Dragon and command of the Fourteenth's third battalion.[5]
In March 3050 the Legion attempted to defend Turtle Bay from Clan Smoke Jaguar.[5] [10] The unit was destroyed, and the few survivors were reassigned to the 16th Legion of Vega.[1]
