Devilitch
Overview
Devilitch is a chronic skin disorder which was common on Ashburton from 3064.[1]
History
Devilitch was first documented in 3064, in fishermen from the Thouret district of Ashburton. It was speculated to have arisen from some previously unknown microorganism brought to the surface from the oceans of Ashburton, following a period of severe tropical storms which resulted in repeated "brown tides" globally. In August 3071 researchers announced a breakthrough in the search for a cure, which was expected to be found within the following 6 months.[1]
Characteristics
Symptoms of Devilitch range from redness and minor irritation in mild cases to incapacitating itching in the worst outbreaks. Sufferers in extreme cases sometimes injure themselves while attempting to claw off their outermost layers of their skin. Devilitch receives its name from the full-body redness seen in most sufferers.[1]
