System Description
The Bristol system is located near the Manteno and Wroxeter systems[2][3] and consists of a class K5V primary orbited by at least two planets. During the late thirty-first century a recharge station was in place at the system nadir jump point.[1]
System History
The Bristol system was colonized during or shortly after the First Exodus from Terra and was located close to the border of the Federated Suns when the Crucis Pact was signed in the early twenty-fourth century.[4]

Planetary History
Bristol was once a heavily industrialized world, but the ravages of the Succession Wars have reduced its importance to the single weapons manufacturer located on the planet, Jolassa-Kumbold Armored Weapons, whose plant is located outside the capital city, Cardiff.[1]
First Succession War
Bristol was invaded during the second half of the major invasion into the Federated Suns launched by the Draconis Combine in May 2791.[5] When word began to spread of the genocide being conducted on Kentares IV by Coordinator Jinjiro Kurita, Armed Forces of the Federated Suns units began to launch vengeful cross-border attacks and raids in retaliation against the Draconis Combine Mustered Soldiery. The first to cross the border were the Third Deneb Light Cavalry, the Seventh Crucis Lancers and the Twentieth Syrtis Fusiliers - all units with recent ties to Kentares. Hitting various worlds near Goderich in October 2797, by mid-November the three commands had liberated both Logandale and Marlette, breaking the DCMS defensive lines on both worlds. Other units were quickly following suit, with AFFS troops landing on Bristol in November, and in December AFFS units near New Avalon launched assaults on both Delavan and Odell, throwing themselves at the leading edge of the Combine invasion. These early attacks were heralds of the AFFS shaking off the low morale of earlier years, and the beginning of a resurgence that would see the AFFS recapture most of the systems lost to the Combine.[6]

Geography
Bristol is a cold, dry and sandy world with low gravity.[8] It has two major continents named Cornwall and Cymru.[1]
The planet's large Ashwood Desert is used for military war games and maneuvers.[9]
Planetary Locations

Notes
The names of the planet, continents and capital city on Bristol are a hodge-podge of names drawn from the southwestern regions of the United Kingdom. Bristol is a major city located in England, close to the border with Wales, and for much of British history was the second-largest city in the British Isles (after London, the capital). The continent named Cornwall is named for the most south-western county of the British mainland; the name of the second continent, Cymru, is the name for Wales in Welsh. Bristol's capital city, Cardiff, is the capital city of modern Wales, although the Welsh name for Cardiff is written as Caedrygg.
