Welcome

Welcome to BattleTechWiki! Thank you for your help with the Xanthos article. I encourage you to introduce yourself at the new user log. You may also want to write a little something about yourself on your user page. The Manual of Style can help you make the most of your edits. If you want to continue helping us with 'Mech articles, you may want to consider signing up at Project BattleMechs and checking out that project's guidelines. Welcome aboard and I hope you keep helping us make BTW great! --Scaletail 17:24, 5 January 2009 (PST)

Jamison's Juggernauts

Hi Wrangler! I have seen the request you put on Scaletail's talk page. As a registered user, you should be able to "move" articles yourself (you should have a Move button in your toolbar), thereby changing their names. Moving does two things: It gives the article a new name, and it automatically creates a redirect page from the old name to the new name. In the case of a typo in the article name, what you usually do is move the article to the correct name then delete the wrong name. Not sure if registered users can delete articles though, or if that requires admin rights. I have done this for your Juggernauts article now. Frabby 01:42, 24 March 2009 (PDT)

Moratorium Violation

On the Rook article you added information from a recently published source. While you are not required to undo the edit you made or remove the reference, please be aware that this is in violation of the moratorium policy. This policy places a moratorium on using sources that have been published within the last two months, except in special circumstances. Thank you for your contribution to BattleTechWiki, and please keep this policy in mind when editing in the future. --Scaletail 16:43, 27 March 2009 (PDT)

How to Upload Images

Really not best person to ask as not staff. First up copyright wise, we really don't have a leg to stand on, we probably have far too much already like many BT sites and exist purely at the kindness/sufferance of the copyright holder. Preference for myself is to go for smaller image sizes to balance quality so the real books remain attractive, even though places like solaris7 have larger versions just as easily available.

Moving on, to upload click on "Upload file" under "Toolbox" toward the bottom lefthand side of the wiki. Upload page will ask you to locate file on your computer, and a text box you can fill in. Ultimately like everything on BTW, up to you/the uploader how much/how little. Once uploaded, merely enter in the file name in the desired field on the vehicle templates and that should be it. Category creation

I have to admit that I wasn't exactly made admin for my technical skills... but I think categories are "auto-created" when you include an article in the category. So you can just go and add the line [[Category: Nova Cat Characters]] to the bottom of the articles; this should be enough to create the category. If it doesn't, follow the red link to the category and edit the category page. I'll go now and try myself. Frabby 14:20, 9 May 2009 (PDT) Okay, to create a category page you evidently need to edit in some content. Done that now for Category:Clan Nova Cat Characters, seems to work alright. Thanks for the Help Frabby, i sometimes have trouble understand many of the commands listed in the help file. Thank you for your help! -- Wrangler 17:57, 9 May 2009 (PDT)
Very interesting project wou're working in regards to the individual units. Definitely leads to some interesting finds. Good job! --Revanche (talk|contribs) 09:05, 16 June 2009 (PDT)
Thank you for compliment Revanche. I try add as many I can that have enough detail be listed. I'm adding units as I keep re-reading my novel collection. I'm going go back and added Militia unit from Surrender Your Dreams. Only problem is that I think the Writers at CGL are loosing track of many of the details! -- Wrangler 12:37, 16 June 2009 (PDT)
And BTW really has the opportunity to be a source, for just that reason. Spread the good word about BTW! Also, your project re-led me to Liberator, and my desire to update that with the recent BC short story regarding its discovery, which then led me to wanting to update the How To page we have for references. So...you've given me taskers now! --Revanche (talk|contribs) 14:04, 16 June 2009 (PDT)

Origin?

Hey, thanks for the massive amounts of productivity. I'm curious: where are you from? --Revanche (talk|contribs) 09:52, 30 June 2009 (PDT)
