Planetary History
When Baron Cham Kithrong led four worlds to form the secessionist Calderon Protectorate in late 3066, Oscar remained on the sidelines until Kithrong held a media interview in which he explained his reasons for forming the Protectorate in December of that year. The interview prompted Oscar and three neighbouring worlds to join the Protectorate,[13] with Oscar contributing directly to the survival of the Protectorate - the trade in foodstuffs from the Fiefdom of Randis for industrial diamonds and rare heavy metals from Oscar represented the first external trade agreement between the Protectorate and another nation, at a time when the Protectorate worlds were barely able to produce enough food to sustain their collective population.[21]
