Freeborns

A Freeborn is an individual in Clan society who was concieved naturally, as opposed to "trueborns" that were conceived through eugenics in an iron womb. Freeborn warriors are usually looked down upon in Clan society by the trueborn leaders. Freeborns almost never achieve high rank, as rank caps are set on them should they attempt to rise too high. A notable exception to this was the example of Phelan Kell, a freeborn Spheroid who was adopted into Clan Wolf and eventually rose to become its saKhan.
