1st Viper Guards (Clan Steel Viper)

History

During Operation Klondike the First Steel Viper Binary was involved in most of their Clan's actions. These elite warriors fought many foes and brought great honor to the Steel Vipers. After Operation Klondike concluded, the First Steel Viper Binary was used as the core of the new First Viper Guards Cluster. This Cluster was originally an all 'Mech force, but the First Viper Guards fought in Trials of Possession for Elemental battle suits and Elemental bloodlines. The First Viper Guards rapidly included these new troops in their formation.

Operation Revival

The First Guards defeated the 305th Assault Cluster of Clan Jade Falcon for control of Monmarault during the Fifth Wave of the invasion.

Post Invasion

In September 3053, the First Guards assaulted Antares in conjunction with the Second Viper Guards as a diversion from the main attack on Graus.

On Antares, the First and Second Guards faced the Second Falcon Jaegers and the 5th Battle Cluster with the assistance of the planetary population. The latter factor allowed the Guards to gain the upper hand and force the Jade Falcon forces off world.

Officers

As of 3061 the commanding officer was Star Colonel Elias Andrews, who had been in command since at least 3058.

Tactics

Against their Inner Sphere foes, the First Viper Guards employed headhunter tactics.
