The Hawke's Horde was a pirate group that operated in and around Taurian Concordat space in the early 31st century.[1]
History[edit]
In 3012, cities and supply convoys in the Landmark, Brisbane and New Vandenburg systems were attacked by elements of Hawke's Horde. While they only had three BattleMechs, they possessed a significant number of combat vehicles including VTOLs and hovercraft. This led Taurian intelligence services to believe that the Horde was formerly a mercenary unit from the Inner Sphere that had gone rogue.[1]
In January 3013, Hawke's Horde attacked the world of Landmark and had a sizable engagement with the Landmark Militia. The pirates were able to escape while inflicting heavy losses on the militia. When the Horde's home base was discovered on Laconis in 3014, the Taurian Concordat sent the newly rebuilt Landmark Militia in addition to a BattleMech force to attack the base and keep the pirates from escaping. Hawke's Horde was destroyed and several prisoners were taken.[1][2]
Charley Hawke, the leader of the pirate band, was executed in 3015.[2]
