Malerie Faulkner was descendant of members of a Clan's touman, mercenary and later, officer of the AFFS.

History
Malerie Faulkner was a freeborn direct descendant of warriors of Folkner (Bloodname), from Clan Jade Falcon. In an unknown date, she bought an OmniMech and became a mercenary, joining the unit Tally's Talons. By 3147, she had reached the rank of Captain and was the XO of Major Tallula Zheng, CO of the unit. On 19 September, she assisted the negotiations of the contract renewal between Zheng and First Prince Julian Davion, feeling impressed by him.[1]
On the 4th of December, along with the rest of the Talons, Malerie made a combat drop upon New Syrtis, as part of Operation CERBERUS. Once on the ground, Zheng blamed Julian Davion for the damage to the Talons' 'Mechs, claiming he was using the unit as bait. This disturbed Malerie, but she didn't believe it.
A day later, Tallula continued blaming the Davions for the unit's losses, claiming they were using their unit, and other mercenary ones, as cannon fodder. When the Talons approached the assault of the Cave, Zheng ordered Malerie not to shoot to a group of Capellan fighters, but she ignored it, downing a Transgressor, being reprimanded by Zheng. The Talon's leader, soon after, revealed to Faulkner than the Talons had been contracted in secret by Capellan Chancellor Daoshen Liao-Centrella to assassinate Julian Davion. But when they attacked him, in the Cave, Faulker was unable to commit such a dezgra and un-clanlike attack, and turned against Tallula's Shrike, saving the Prince's life. A fight ensued, and Malerie, to her chagrin, was forced to kill her superior and friend. Later, Julian asked her to stand down, and she surrendered to the Guards forces. She was the only known survivor of the Talons.[2]
Faulkner was rewarded for her actions by being asked to join Julian's personal guard and enlist into the AFFS, with the rank of Leftenant. She was on patrol with her lance on 18 July 3148 in Saso, New Syrtis' capital, during a protest that was interrupted by a terrorist bombing and chemical attack. On 17 August, she fought against the Capellan's massive counterattack, Operation WHIRLWIND. When Danai Liao-Centrella engaged Julian with Yen-Lo-Wang, Malerie led the charge to save him and rammed her Centurion, saving Julian's life again, but in the process she was wounded and lost consciousness. It is implied she died of her wounds.[3]
