History
As at 3059, the Blood Fury was one of only four WarShips in the Blood Spirit touman, and was serving as a part of the Naval Reserve.[2]
The Blood Fury was destroyed in battle during the invasion of York by Clan Star Adder in late August 3063. The Blood Fury, which had been stationed on orbit around York when a Star Adder taskforce led by the Essex-class destroyer Tehuantepec arrived via Pirate point, was the sole Blood Spirit WarShip in a position to resist the Star Adder landing.
During the last stages of the orbital battle when the Adder's committed the majority of their DropShips to landing, the Tehuantepec was able to attack the Blood Fury unhindered while the Fury itself focused on causing massive losses to the Adder's troop transports. This caused fatal damage to the Blood Fury, which then chose to attempt a suicidal hyperspace jump in order to cause as much further damage to the Adders as possible.
This jump destroyed the Blood Fury, as well as a number of Adder DropShips and aerospace fighters, and caused significant damage to the Tehuantepec.[1]
Notes
- The destruction of the Blood Fury was later reported by Clan Diamond Shark Loremaster Semi Kalasa to have occurred in late August 3064 in The Wars of Reaving sourcebook[3], rather than August 3063, but this dating does not match the contemporaneous account in the earlier The Color of Rage short story.
