In April 3067, Hohiro commanded an effort to steal Clan Diamond Shark 'Mechs on Riga. He agreed to a live-fire demonstration of the Ha Otoko against four 'Mechs, then attempted to overpower saFactor Mark Sennet and his escort with overwhelming numbers to capture their 'Mechs. A volcanic eruption, one that would destroy a village filled with pirate corpses, was expected to make the deaths look like accidents. However, Mark negotiated with Hanna Pence, a commander of an RDF 4 scout company, to escape alive with his 'Mech, and the two agreed to pin all blame on Hohiro.[1]
