Unno Kitabake was a Marquis and President of Metals of the Earth in the end of the Third Succession War.

History

Unno Kitabake was the eldest son of a mineworker's family on the unexceptional farming world of Kilmarnock.[1]

He was able to rise in position even with his humble origins, because the Combine would not waste their superior talents. Through his aptitude for the sciences he managed to achieve the coveted title of Hakasi, or Doctor, in the metallurgical sciences. In his school years he was already a known inventor, and once he started his career in mining industry he even increased his inventions on the sector.

He became senior Vice President of New Samarkand Metals where he had played a key role in the development of Tempered Samarkite alloy, when an scandal broke at Metals of the Earth. Unknown to most, ISF detected that President Duke Rollo Rourke had created a grandiose scheme to amass a fortune large enough to get him out of the Combine and into the Periphery, where he hoped to found his own dynasty.

After his execution by ISF, Unno Kitabake received his title and was made president of the second-largest corporation in the Draconis Combine.

Kitabake's autobiography, The Upward Way, was made into a mass-broadcast holovision miniseries and the Draconis Combine government displays him as a fine example of the heights to which even a worker's or farmer's son might aspire.[1]
