Planetary History[edit]
In early 3023, Henrik Cole led a Draconis Combine-backed battalion to try to kill his uncle Thaddeus Cole on Ramen and claim his title of Duke for himself. The attempt failed but Henrik's forces were able to kidnap his daughter Samantha and a number of their staff. This was short-lived, as the Draconis March Militia descended on the holding facility and were able to free the hostages. Out of options, Henrik's forces withdrew from the system and back into Draconis space.[31]
Unbeknownst to Henrik, Samantha planted a tracking device in one of their vehicles while kidnapped, allowing a mercenary unit to pursue him back to his base in a remote polar region of Reisling's Planet which was far from any civilian population and plagued by extreme weather. The conditions made the base invisible to unsuspecting outsiders but also vulnerable to attack, as enemies could approach undetected. Henrik was killed and his base destroyed, and Samantha ultimately uncovered the full truth of the operation.[31]
Military Deployment[edit]
Geography[edit]
In the MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries High Reward Quest "Bring Her Home," a remote polar region of Reisling's Planet is depicted as a glacial ice biome with good visibility.[31]
Notes[edit]
The world is spelled Riesling's Planet in at least one early FASA product.[36]
