Description
The Gùn is a moderately fast, light OmniMech which was designed by the Capellan Confederation for infantry support. Built by Ceres Metals Industries in the Lockton factory, the design was released in the wake of the Blackout, just as the Capellans launched a new invasion of the Republic of the Sphere.[1][4]
Created to serve as a garrison 'Mech, its main role is to serve as fire-support for the garrison's infantry and battle armor formations. However, with only three and a half tons of armor, the 'Mech lacks sufficient protection to counter heavier combat vehicles and traditional BattleMechs in combat. The 'Mech features a small cockpit and an XL gyro to save weight.[1]
Weapons and Equipment
Designed with 10 tons of pod space, the primary configuration of the Gùn features a combination of anti-infantry and anti-vehicle energy weaponry. Its main weapon is a plasma rifle mounted in the right arm with two tons of ammo located in the adjacent torso. This weapon is backed up by a pair of ER medium lasers.[1]
Alternate Configurations
- Alternate Configuration A
- Features a single, powerful heavy PPC that replaces the plasma rifle and its ammo in the 'Mech's right arm. BV (2.0) = 685[1][5][6]
- Alternate Configuration B
- This configuration is geared towards electronic warfare, mounting a Bloodhound active probe, Angel ECM suite, and a TAG designator. The 'Mech's only weapon is a single ER large laser. BV (2.0) = 639[1][7][8]
