History
The lead ship of the Black Lion I class of battlecruisers, the Black Lion served in the Terran Hegemony black water navy as the THS Black Lion. The Black Lion I was the first class of battlecruiser to be built by the Terran Hegemony, and the THS Black Lion and her sister ships went on to define the very nature of a Hegemony battlecruiser. A contemporary of such classes as the Dreadnought-class battleship and the Dart-class light cruiser, the Black Lion I was a success; impressed by the maneuverability of the Black Lion I, Admiral James McKenna - then Director-General of the Terran Hegemony - adopted the THS Black Lion as his flagship in place of the Dreadnought-class flagship he had previously used as his command WarShip.[1]
