Overview
Founded by then Steel Wolves leader Anastasia Kerensky when she was dissatisfied by the state of the Steel Wolves. This led to the splintering Clan of unworthy members, what remains of the Steel Wolves in July 3135.
History
The Hunters were hired to stop the Wolf Empire invasion of the Lyran Commonwealth in 3143, by Duke Vedet Brewer.[1] Led by Anastasia, they defeated the Wolves on planets Hollabrunn, Senftenberg, Dar-es-Salaam, and Mariefred, stopping the Wolf offensive.[2] Their victory on the planet Hyde was a short one: they forced the Wolves to retreat, but after the Hunters left the planet, Alaric Wolf took the planet easily. But their luck changed on Smolnik. There, Alaric uncovered a plan by Anastasia to turn a city into a trap. Expecting to finally kill Alaric, he defused the trap by gassing the city, putting the civilians and soldiers to sleep. Despite the fact that Anastasia killed Verena Wolf, lover and Alaric's second-in-command, Alaric defeated Kerensky and claimed her as a bondswoman afterward.
Two-thirds of the Wolf Hunters mercenary unit were either captured or killed, neutralizing them as a threat permanently.[3] However, the remnant of their group joined the Lyran defense of Tharkad against Clan Jade Falcon and Clan Wolf attack. 3146 found the Hunters still at the service of the Lyrans, but when their former leader, Anastasia Kerensky, now new Clan Wolf saKhan, extended to her former unit an invitation to join Clan Wolf, and the Hunters unanimously acquiesced, leaving Lyran space to Wolf Empire space. The status of the mercenaries in the Empire is unknown.[4]
