The Third Sun Zhang Academy Cadre was one of the Sun Zhang MechWarrior Academy's prestigious cadre units. Cadets assigned to the unit are put to the ultimate test by seeing real combat. Like all Sun Zhang Cadres, the Third was a free-floating regiment with no supporting regiments attached.

History
Star League
In 2765, the Third Sun Zhang Academy Cadre was stationed on Galedon V and considered a "Light" Regiment. The Third remained on Galedon V until the beginning of the First Succession War.[1][2]
Succession Wars
First Succession War
The Third Sun Zhang Academy Cadre participated in the fighting along the Federated Suns border. The unit survived the deadly conflict and returned to their post on Galedon V at the end of the war. They were reported to have taken 45% casualties.[3]
Second Succession War
The Third Sun Zhang Academy Cadre also fought in the Second Succession War starting out from their posting on Galedon V. At some time during the war, the Third was destroyed.[4]
