Drune II was mentioned in Decision at Thunder Rift as a Lyran Commonwealth "base" of some sort. The the implication is that it is a planet (the second of the Drune star system), and a notable Commonwealth military strongpoint as of 3025.

Discussing a plan to travel from Trell to Tharkad, Drune II was said to be "about 90 light years in", though it remains unclear from the context if "in" indicates any direction of travel, and what the starting point of reference would be.

Given that no published starmap for BattleTech (nor any other publication) mentions Drune II, it could be assumed that the system is known under another name otherwise.

Notes

  • In the German edition of the novel, Drune II was replaced by Beta VII.
