The first colonists on Styx established their cities on the open plains of Epimetheus, the main continent, because this area received the weakest storms.[1] Styx was one of the worlds abandoned by the Terran Alliance following the Outer Reaches Rebellion and the Demarcation Declaration of 2242,[2] but Styx was incorporated into the Terran Hegemony within a century, becoming one of the worlds within the Lone Star Province.[3][6]
