Planetary History
Reunification War
Robsart was the site of the largest naval action in the Reunification War.[48] Between March 20 and April 4 2581, the SLDF and Taurian Defense Force fleets fought a vicious series of battles. At the end, the Taurians withdrew, but the SLDF fleet lost a quarter of their WarShips (thirty ships) and another fifty WarShips required extensive repairs before they could return to service. Another WarShip would never leave the system, while two more WarShips remained in the system for twenty years until the first Newgrange yardship could arrive in system and effect repairs.[49]
After the naval battle ended, the SLDF's III Corps was called in to take the worlds. Before they could drop on the planet, Admiral Janissa Franklin, the naval task force commander, executed a series of orbital bombardments on the world that left a quarter million citizens dead and millions more wounded or homeless. The bombardments destroyed the defenders, but also cemented the Robsartians' hatred of the Star League.[49] As a result, the SLDF troops faced three months of massive "human wave" attacks that required the SLDF troops to kill tens of thousands of people. Though the world was officially declared pacified at the end of August, the Robsartians continued to resist their occupiers for several decades after the end of the war.[50]
Star League Era
In 2764 Robsart was hit by a substantial pirate raid. The pirates were driven off by the defending Twenty-sixth Avalon Hussars, who would spend at least a year rebuilding afterwards; the Twenty-sixth used materiel and equipment salvaged from the pirates as a part of their rebuilding, equipment that was noted as being of a distinctly Taurian nature.[6]
The Jihad
Robsart was one of ten worlds assaulted by the CCAF during the third week of March 3069, a wave of attacks that formed a part of Operation THUNDERSTRIKE, the Capellan counteroffensive against the Capellan March in defiance of Duke George Hasek's campaign Operation SOVEREIGN JUSTICE.[51]
The Taurian Concordat then invaded Robsart in January 3075,[37][38] one of a number of worlds attacked as part of an invasion of the Federated Suns in response to evidence implicating the Federated Suns in the asteroid bombardment of Taurus in 3074.[38][52] The wave of Taurian attacks in January 3075 targetted Robsart, Horsham and Brusett, and both Robsart and Horsham fell quickly; the Taurian forces were defeated on Brusett.[37][38]
