Planetary Description

Sian is the modern capital world of the Capellan Confederation, noted be the best defended planet of the House Liao.[1] It home of many of House Liao's major industries and political leadership.

Geography

Sian has four major landmasses; Liaoning "The Walrus", Wuhan, Imarra, and South Home. The planet's environment consist of lush jungle and tropical environments, which have been placed under strictive developmental protection.[2]

Notable Landmarks

  • Zi-Jin Cheng (“Forbidden City”) - The city is the capital city of both the planet and the Confederation. Located on the Wuhan continent, the city lies in the center of of Wuhan with Golden Water River running to its south. It the home of the home of the Chancellor, the Celestial Palace.
  • Sian University - Located on Liaoning, this a major education center for the Confederation and the planet. In 3025, Sian University was the Confederation's only major college or university.[3]
  • Summer Palace
  • Atlantis Undersea Resort - Famous Irenna Islands underwater resort for the ultra rich.

Planetary History

Capital of Confederation

In 2367, in Age of War, the Confederation's capital was transferred to Sian after Capella was devastated by a planetary bombardment.[4][5]

Jihad

The Bombardment of the Forbidden City

During the Duke George Hasek's war against the Confederation in 3068, Warships, believed belong to Haesk's Davion forces raided Sian space and bombardment the Forbidden City. The bombardment result in disappearance Chancellor Sun-Tzu Liao, whom was believed to be dead. Also, lost in the bombardment was "captive" Duchess of St. Ives, Candace Liao. These events lead to rallying of Liao forces to begin a counter-strike against Hasek's invasion.[6]

The First Battle of Sian

In September 3070, the Word of Blake invasion force assault Sian in attempt to occupy the planet during the Jihad. Lead by the the WoB's 24th and 17th Divisions, aided by several mercenary commands, including the Dragon's Breath. However, House Liao forces prevent the majority of leading elements of the invasion force to land.[7]

The invasion forces managed to finally land and push into ruins of the Forbidden City. During course of the battle, Colonel Warner Doles of the Blackwind Lancers, arrives with his regiment to rescue Chancellor from Blakist with his own life. The Blakist push with majority forces, marks failure and victory for House Liao forces.[8]

Cease-Fire And Attempted Assassinations
