==History==
As of [[3059]], the ''Rancor'' was one of only seven WarShips in the Fire Mandrill ''[[touman]]'' at this point and was serving alongside two sister vessels, the [[Anathema|CFM ''Anathema'']] and the [[Rage (Individual Lola III-class WarShip)|CFM ''Rage'']].<ref name="FM:CCp44">''Field Manual: Crusader Clans'', p. 44: "Naval Assets"</ref> Following the [[Trial of Absorption|Absorption]] of [[Kindraa Kline]] by [[Kindraa Mick-Kreese]] the ''Rancor'' would serve in the naval forces of the new [[Kindraa Mick-Kreese-Kline]] alongside the ''[[Potemkin]]''-class cruiser [[Jungle Heat|CFM ''Fire-Eater'']], which was renamed to ''Jungle Heat'' by [[3067]].<ref name="FM:Up43">''Field Manual: Updates'', p. 43: "Kindraa Mick-Kreese-Kline"</ref>

In 3067, the ''Rancor'' acted as a transport vessel for [[Clan Blood Spirit]]'s [[Iota Galaxy (Clan Blood Spirit)|Iota Galaxy]] as Iota Galaxy slipped away from [[York (Clan System)|York]] in the wake of the destruction of the [[Clan Star Adder]] ''[[Vincent (WarShip class)|Vincent Mk. 42]]''-class corvette [[Vritra|CSA ''Vritra'']]. The ''Rancor'' and other Fire Mandrill forces joined the Blood Spirit's Iota Galaxy in a highly successful attack against the Star Adder enclave on [[Tathis]], netting a share of two full [[Trinary|Trinaries]] of [[ProtoMech]]s and [[OmniMech]]s before parting ways with Iota Galaxy.<ref name="WORp16">''The Wars of Reaving'', p. 16: "The Wolf at the Door"</ref>

In late [[3070]], the Blood Spirits had benefited from gaining a number of [[Clan Snow Raven]] enclaves across several worlds in exchange for [[JumpShip]]s and [[DropShip]]s which the Snow Raven's wanted to assist in their evacuation to the [[Outworlds Alliance]]. The Fire Mandrills joined with the Blood Spirits in a number of assaults to obtain territory and resources from other Clans as various [[Trial of Possession|Trials of Possession]] were fought over holdings belonging to those Clans departing the [[Clan Homeworlds]], as well as opportunistic attacks against [[Clan Star Adder]].<ref name="WORp54+">''The Wars of Reaving'', pp. 54–55: "Fuel for the Blood Feud"</ref>

One of the worlds on which the Blood Spirits either gained or were looking to gain a number of enclaves was [[Circe]], and in the closing months of [[3071]] as the Blood Spirits gathered forces for another series of strikes into Star Adder territory the Star Adders moved a large body of forces to Circe, announcing a Trial of Possession for all of the enclaves on Circe that were, or had ever been, Snow Raven holdings. Two of the Snow Raven enclaves were still guarded by Snow Raven forces at this point; the [[7th Raven Regulars (Clan Snow Raven)|Seventh Raven Regulars]] and the [[2nd Raven Garrison Cluster (Clan Snow Raven)|Second Raven Garrison Cluster]] were given a three-day grace period to prepare themselves before the Star Adders landed en masse and launched attacks. The Snow Ravens fought well, but couldn't prevail, leaving the enclaves in Star Adder hands.<ref name="WORp54+"/>

Also on Circe at the time were three [[Galaxy|Galaxies]] of Blood Spirit forces - [[Omega Galaxy (Clan Blood Spirit)|Omega]], [[Sigma Galaxy (Clan Blood Spirit)|Sigma]] and [[Zeta Galaxy (Clan Blood Spirit)|Zeta]]. With the Star Adders and Blood Spirits squaring off against each other, [[Kindraa Mick-Kreese-Kline]] arrived to launch their own Trial for the two Raven enclaves just captured, led by the Fire Mandrill [[saKhan]] and accompanied by the ''Rancor''. The Star Adders took exception and Khan [[Karianna Schmitt]] of the Blood Spirits argued at length for the Fire Mandrill forces to stay out of the battle; Kindraa Mick-Kreese-Kline, interpreting the wording of the Star Adder Trial of Possession differently to both the Star Adders and Blood Spirits, landed anyway and launched attacks on the two recently captured enclaves, only to find both themselves and the Blood Spirits declared ''[[dezgra]]'' by the Star Adders and the subject of a vicious counterattack. Khan Schmitt requested ''[[hegira]]'' after losing almost two Galaxies of troops, but the Star Adders continued to press the attack; it was only the direct intervention of the Mick-Kreese-Kline task force that saw the few DropShips that managed to launch survive attacks from Star Adder [[aerospace fighter]]s. As it was, securing the evacuation of those forces that did escape inflicted a heavy price, including the loss of the ''Rancor''.<ref name="WORp54+"/>
