−	Mazzanoble is referred to as a Knight-Errant by Malvin Hazen in 3151 in ''Hour of the Wolf'', a rank which is repeated in the [[Star Colonel]] [[Rosetta Jennings]]' report on his death in the ''IlClan'' sourcebook, which is inconsistent with his promotion by 3150 as described in ''Technical Readout: 3150'' and ''Technical Readout: Dark Age''. As the later sources come from a Clan perspective, for the purposes of this article it has been assumed the Clans were unaware of his promotion, and he was in fact still a full Knight at the time of his death.

Alone on [[Sadalbari]] and cut off from his superiors, Mazzanoble however responded well, helping to maintain calm in the local population and reestablish contact with other Knights on neighboring worlds. In the few defensive military actions he was required to participate in, he also demonstrated excellent marksmanship, though he remained relatively inexperienced.
