Fitzroy's Fusiliers was a small mercenary unit, company-sized. Led by a Captain Fitzroy, sometime prior to 3152 where contracted by the reborn Tamar Pact, on the Hinterlands. They were sent to the planet Crimond, where they were tasked to help put down a bombing campaign of local miners. The surviving officer, Ta-heng Cai, knowing than his unit cannot survive, contacted Ronan Carlyle, the commander of the reborn Gray Death Legion, which had fought the same campaign, but emerged unscathed, begging him to accept the surviving Fusiliers into the Legion. Carlyle and the rest of the Legion's leaders agreed, making them to form the bones of the Legion's third company, naming Cai its captain, about March of 3152. The integration of the survivors into the Legion wasn't easy or fast, but happened without too many problems.
