Minnesota Tribe

I have taken the Minnesota Tribe material out of this article and created a new article from it. I would like to edit the Kurita article to basically just be a line pointing to the new article. Locis 09:11, 8 January 2008 (CST) communibus locis

"Directions" in the stellar map

I know this is probably the wrong place to mention it and nitpicking at it's best, but as it just came up in the first sentence of the article: The directions in the stellar map are afaik core-ward ("north"), rim-ward ("south"), spin-ward ("west") and antispin-ward ("east"). In this specific case, it is in quotation marks, which indicates that it's just for ease of reference. To address your broader point, I would point out that Camacho's Caballeros hail from the Southwestern Trinity, a trio of worlds that gets its name from the fact that the planets are in the "SW corner" of the IS. --Scaletail 17:43, 18 February 2009 (PST)

Well, you got a point there. I just thought it felled awkward to use north etc. regarding to a stellar map. I'm just in the process of "rereading" all the CBT novels, and I agree that sometimes the authors drop back to use classic directions instead of core-ward etc.. Using the ones with the shape of the galaxy as reference frame (instead of a planetary reference system) seems just more authentic. House Kurita

Would it be a good idea to split off House Kurita from the Draconis Combine in a similar page to House Amaris? I really like this page. --Dmon 06:31, 10 August 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for bringing it up for consensus. I'll post this in Request Comment to get others to weigh in.

My opinion: if done well, then I think breaking the Kurita family out from the Combine article -due to the breadth of available information on both- would be informative and helpful. That's been on my to-do list forever: The Great Houses are really a different item from the Successor States (or periphery realms, or whatever). So yes, Houses Davion, Kurita, Steiner, Marik, Liao, Calderon, Centrella, Avellar, O'Reilly, and all the others really deserve their own articles. Btw, some of you may have noticed that during copyediting I seek to always adress realms by their realm name, not by the House they are associated with. Frabby 14:51, 10 August 2009 (UTC)

I agree. Before we proceed, though, I think it might to be wise to discuss how exactly the articles are going to be different in order to keep from duplicating the same information. Might I suggest BattleTechWiki talk: Project Factions? --Scaletail 23:55, 10 August 2009 (UTC)
