Plot summary[edit]

Baron Shienzè has sent the Avanti's Angels on a mission to New Home. He has warned them about the Word of Blake Level I guard on a package he wants to be retrieved. For the mission Marcus GioAvanti has deployed his Guardian lance. The story starts with the Angels in possession of the package and escaping the Word of Blake forces. Marcus' Caesar is not much damaged, neither is Paula Jacobs in her Valkyrie, while Nihail Sallahan's Centurion is very damaged. Charlene's Phoenix Hawk and a Savannah Master are undamaged. They are fleeing Word of Blake forces in the form of a Sentinel, a jihad variant Thunderbolt, an Initiate, two squads of Purifier battle armor and a Crockett.

With one of his actuators damaged, Marcus orders his unit to flee at maximum speed, without him, through a river. The WoB forces follow Marcus and attack him from mountain and from river, nearly crippling his leg. Then, using a trick that Ki-Lynn Tanaga has prepared, the Angels spring a trap and counterambush the WoB forces enough to stop them and escape.

When the Heaven Sent DropShip arrived, we discover that the package is the Baron's son: Raphael Shienzé.
