Description

Created by the Federated Suns, the Generic Expandable Services Vehicle (also known as the GESV) is designed to be a multirole support vehicle. Using an OmniVehicle chassis, the vehicle is able to be reconfigured to a number of roles, which include its principal configuration as a mobile command post. The GESV is utilized by military, government, and private organizations.

Aside from being employed as a military and civilian Mobile Headquarters, the GESV is commonly utilized as a cargo vehicle, mobile kitchen, and MASH unit. Additionally, the GESV can operate with a bespoke trailer that also has different configurations to further enhance the GESV's capabilities.

Equipment and Capabilities

The GESV tractor is built on an Omnivehicle chassis. The powerful fuel cell motor enables the tractor to pull up to two of the GESV's purpose-built trailers. The vehicle is protected by 2 tons of BAR 7 commercial-grade armor.

The GESV has two doors, one each for the right and left sides. The vehicle itself has a crew of two; additional personnel are added based on the loadout, as described below.

Cargo

As an Omnivehicle, the GESV's equipment is limited mainly by the 11 tons of available pod space. The most common configurations are shown below.

GESV Tractor Configurations

• MASH Configuration 

  The medical configuration of the GESV track includes a single MASH unit and 6 surgical theaters. With 36 medical personnel, this module has a cargo capacity of 2.5 tons.

• Mobile Command Post Configuration 

  The Mobile Command Post is fitted with 7 tons of Communication Equipment. This configuration is also equipped with two Remote Sensor Dispensers. The module requires a crew of 9 people.

• Mobile Field Kitchen Configuration 

  This configuration features two field kitchens, 1.74 tons of refrigerated cargo, and 3 tons of standard cargo. The kitchens increase the crew requirement by 8 and can feed upwards of 300 personnel.

GESV Trailer

The 15 ton GESV Trailer is designed similarly to tractor, and also utilizes an Omni chassis. Up to two GESV Trailers can be hitched together and pulled by the tractor. The trailer is protected by 1.5 tons of BAR 7 grade armor and has an Equipment Rating of E/X-X-X/E.

GESV Trailer Configurations

• Bunk Configuration 

  Designed as a mobile living quarters for infantry and other personnel. It has two foot infantry bays that can accommodate up to 60 people. It is noted that the bunk configuration is cramped, but most soldiers will still find it preferable to sleeping in the elements. This configuration has 1.5 tons worth of cargo space for basic supplies.

• Cargo/Workspace Configuration 

  Designed as a combination of cargo trailer and multifunction workspace. It has a maximum cargo capacity of 11.5 tons.

• As an Omni unit, the GESV's trailer is virtually unique in that its interior can be arranged into almost any configuration within tonnage limits.

• At time of this writing, there are no published record sheets for neither the GESV's tractor and trailers nor any of its variants.
