This image was published 22 years ago. Back in the day and to a degree to this day, FASA (then FanPro, and now CGL) inserted so many pop culture references and in-jokes into BattleTech (the Fighting Urukhai or Team Banzai anyone?) that this one here doesn't particularly stand out. If I were to guess why FASA weren't sued, I'd wager that

1. whoever holds any rights to imagery of Sean Connery or the Hunt for Red October movie isn't aware of this rather obscure image;
2. even if they are aware, there is nothing particularly copyrightable in this image, which on top of it
3. is original art and
4. used within the BattleTech universe, so would probably fall under "fair use" in any case.
5. Oh, and it's an OOP product.

I therefore doubt that anyone would consider suing anyone else over this even if they knew of the image and somehow disapproved. I've always felt it was just one more pop culture reference. :) Frabby (talk) 06:00, 8 January 2017 (PST)
