Prelude[edit]
Following the successful prosecution of the First Andurien War Captain-General Peter Marik sought to use his increased political capital to push back against more of the Free Worlds League's enemies. Parliament was less than pleased with the unilateral aggressive wars and in 2413 established a special committee to oversee the Captain-General's office.[1][2][3][4]
Overview[edit]
In 2416, the Lyran Commonwealth tried to seize control of Dieudonné from the Free Worlds League. They were repulsed by League forces.[1][2][3][4]
Aftermath[edit]
Parliament ordered Peter Marik to seek an armistice with the Commonwealth, something Peter refused to do. In 2418, he launched a campaign that seized the Lyran world of Rochelle. In response to that provocation Parliament passed the War Powers Act which put massive constraints on the Captain-General's ability to wage war without Parliament's consent.[1][2][3][4]
